Contrails / Chemtrails
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

I enjoy listening to Jeff Rense and Art Bell on the Internet. They have periodically had guests on the programs that have talked at great lengths concerning the unusual occurring contrails in our skies for the last year or so.

By nature I am suspicious and critical, but I am even more curious. I have a Master of Science degree in geology and have taken a wide variety of chemistry, math and physics courses as well as geology courses. However, I have no expertise in meteorology or aviation.

Epiphany

The epiphany, that moment when you just know, is not the same for everyone. I quite often require a personal experience.

A friend of mine also heard the discussion about contrails on the radio and he was interested but not moved by the discussion. One thing mention in the radio program was that usually two days following heavy spraying in an area, an ad will appear in the local newspaper asking for volunteers for a respiratory study. Sure enough one day he saw the sky covered by odd contrails and two days later the ad appeared in his local news paper. That and his own subsequent respiratory illness convinced him.

On June 6th, 2000 I was standing in the parking lot of Home Depot near my home and noticed the concentration and blooming of contrails in the sky. At that moment a four engine jet flying lower than normal, estimated at below 20,000 feet, formed a thick contrail behind it. It was like a sheet coming off of each wing. Startling and odd to say the least but not really strange enough to make me believe that it was just not an odd contrail.

The clincher was when the jet reached the end of a similar contrail, it's contrail just flat stopped! No tapering off or dwindling . . . it just stopped . . . forming a right angle intersection of the two contrails. The plane continued on at apparently the same altitude but the thick contrail stopped.

I do not know why we are seeing on a semi-regular basis these different looking contrails. I have decided to start to archive these contrails for the Oklahoma City area, beginning with the June 6th observation.

Location and Camera

We are located in NW Oklahoma City at 3325 Eastman Drive, 1/2 mile north of Baptist Hospital. All pictures will be from this location unless otherwise noted.

The camera used is a Casio QV-11 digital camera. The camera has no zoom capabilities, therefor all images will be of the same scale.

It is tempting to enhance the images by adjusting gamma or contrast . . . but I will not adjust or edit any images.
