The biggest obstacle to starting an Internet business is dealing with the hype and myth that is floating around. "I could never keep up with the orders." I have heard this
statement so many times that it has lost its shock value.
Eighty million Internet
users are not going to rush to your site with fists full of dollars. The numbers that you
often read about concerning Internet commerce doubling nearly every nine months are
true, but you must remember that this commerce is being pursued by an every increasing
number of individuals and large corporations.
The Internet initially was completely ignored by large corporations and even the likes of
Microsoft, Novell and IBM. No matter what any of them claim they were not here in the beginning. The Internet was developed by individuals.
A Very Brief History of the Internet

Large corporations still do not fully understand the Internet. They still desire to control the market place much as they do with their television and print
advertising dollars. On the Internet everyone is equal. It is just as easy to go to your site as it is any corporate site.
The Internet is about individuals and their ability to communicate with other individuals
with a common interest. This is why as an individual you have an incredible opportunity to start a new business
on the internet. For about the price of what it would cost you to install a business phone at a store you can have your own Internet site.
